About the course

This course explores an ancient understanding of form, geometry, and proportion that has been used throughout history to influence the quality of spaces, objects, symbols, and the human experience itself. Rather than approaching Tattoo design through aesthetics alone, The Ancient Way of Conscious Design teaches how shape can be arranged intentionally to support beneficial energetic qualities such as coherence, balance, protection, alignment, and vitality. Drawing from principles preserved through ancient traditions and adapted for modern tattooing, this training provides a practical framework for creating designs with greater awareness, purpose, and energetic influence.

Shane Coley

Shane Coley is a tattooist, author and educator with four decades of experience in tattooing and a long-standing exploration of ceremonial and sacred tattoo traditions. His work draws upon ancient understandings of symbolism, geometry, energy and intentional design, bringing these principles into a contemporary approach to creating tattoos with deeper purpose, meaning and energetic function.
